Meet Jodie. The Jodie behind Jodie’s Table.
Jodie Meagan passed away in December 2024. In her final year of life she was in the ICU unconscious 3 times. They never could figure out what was happening. In 2016 her colon burst a few days after a colonoscopy where she found out she had ulcerative colitis. After several surgeries and complications she had a j-pouch. Many doctors had no idea what that was which made finding care more difficult. She had a hard time asking for accommodations and getting back to work because of that. Her condition was invisible and people didn’t understand that. The mission of Jodie’s Table is to help folks with invisible conditions advocate for themselves better at work, in the exam room, and in emergencies. Jodie spent her life fighting for those the world overlooked and this is for her, and for those who she would have fought for.
